While crossing Bear Creek I hit an invisible massive rock in about 18 inches of water and dumped my gasser over. It happened so fast I didn’t have time to hit the kill switch. The bike immediately died when sideways, but I *ASSUMED* it died from tipping over. Not….So I pulled the air filter which had some water in the lower portion but I didn’t see any inside the airbox past the filter. We tried a gentle turnover by hand but it was very resistant. So we pulled the plug and gently rotated by hand and water came shooting out the plug hole with the bike vertical. So we flipped the bike and pumped out about 16 ounces or so. More came out of the power valve, more out of the pipe. Dried the plug and plug boot and reinserted. After a few easy kicks it fired and ran. Man I love two strokes. We rode 15 more miles. But on the way back I pushed across the creek 🙂 The next day I was changing the trans oil (which was milky) and found a small bolt on the bottom of the engine (only had this bike for a couple weeks now)…. turns out GasGas put a crankcase drain bolt in for such a time as this…Just another reason to love my Gasser, just wish I had found it sooner LOL
