First, Michael Kurtz of Record Store Day comes through to talk up the annual worldwide celebration of local music shops on 4/21, show some killer limited memorabilia, and explain how Lars Ulrich is “Jesus-like.” Then, Joe is joined by Toby and Rusty of H2O. They work like a family, spreading their sound and drug and alcohol-free beliefs to kids at shows and schools, and Joe is happy to get to hang with them. Finally, Sebastian “C-Bazz” Fort takes the studio like a superhero and shares his story as a comedian from Louisiana that is taking LA by storm. From a shared love of music to his family’s concerns with him leaving the country, it’s a seriously funny visit from a funny man on the move. GUEST BIO: Michael Kurtz is president of Music Monitor Network, the largest of the indie record store coalitions, representing 100 stores in the USA and Canada. Co-founder of Record Store Day and the person who manages it day-to-day. Record Store Day has now spread to about 50 countries and has approximately 1700 stores who participate. Before working with the Music Monitor Network and Record Store Day, he studied music and business at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC and worked as a musician, producer, technician.
