Atom and other students of Ochanomizu Elementary school visit the laboratory for the earth crust in Izushimoda on their field trip. At the laboratory they meet a robot called True who is an assistant to Director Domoto. Actually True resembles Atom very much. Suddenly, True starts running around Shimoda city and loudly saying that a big earthquake will strike the city. Hearing that, people get panicky and a fire starts at the gas station. Atom goes to the site to prevent fire from spreading but he is mistaken for True who spreads a lie to the people. When True comes back, Domoto turns off his energy switch and starts reforming him. Actually True has told a lie since Domoto reconstructed True’s circuit to make him say to the contrary after his daughter was involved in a car accident a year ago, for he was afraid that his daughter would notice the truth that she lost her sight at the accident. But, Domoto feels remorse for the chaos caused by True and brings his circuit into the original condition. The moment True recovers his conscious the computer at the meter room catches unusual crustal movement indicating the sign of a big earthquake. Again, True runs around the city warning that the earthquake will strike Shimoda; however, nobody believes what he says anymore. Instead, people beat up True. Then, a minor shock strikes the city, following a tremendous main shock. Atom actively helps a lot of people. He also mimics True to comfort frightened Kozue.
